Q. Hello. Whenever I resize a picture that has multiple layers in Photoshop (to get more room at the bottom so I can continue adding more things), it stretches the rest of the layers and I don't want that. I just want more transparent space at the bottom. Any help?
A. resize the canvas, not the image -- image > canvas size...,
To add more canvas area only to the bottom of your existing image, press the top middle arrow. This will push all the arrows up leaving the last row blank.
Now add some numbers to the height field. You can either a) enter the total height of the image (including the extra height you need) or b) you can use the "relative" option and add exactly how much extra height to tack on to the original.
For example: if your image is 300 pixels (px) in height and you need an additional 50px to the bottom of the canvas then without the "relative" option checked you'd put "350"; and with relative checked you'd only have to put "50".
